Jürgen Dahl-Skog, of Empresas Taylor, among the Top 10 CIOs in Latin America 2026, according to CIO Review

The international magazine CIO Review included Jürgen Dahl-Skog, Chief Information Officer of Empresas Taylor, in its Top 10 CIOs in Latin America 2026 ranking, highlighting his technological leadership, strategic vision, and ability to deliver tangible impact in the transformation of maritime and port logistics across Latin America.

Jürgen Dahl-Skog, a Civil Engineer in Computer Science with a Master’s degree in Information Technology, has more than a decade of experience at Empresas Taylor, where he has built a career distinguished by technical excellence, disciplined execution, and a deep understanding of the maritime-logistics sector. Since joining in 2010 as Head of Technological Innovation, Processes and Systems, he has led key modernisation initiatives, aligning technology, operations, and personnel with a long-term strategic vision.

In 2021, he was appointed CIO of the group, assuming responsibility for defining and implementing a corporate digital strategy focused on scalability, operational efficiency, information security, and customer experience. Under his leadership, Empresas Taylor migrated its IT infrastructure to the cloud, integrated BPMS and CRM platforms, as well as robotic process automation (RPA) solutions, and established a robust, resilient technology management model capable of operating at a regional scale.

One of the most significant achievements of his tenure has been the development and implementation of the first fully automated system for the release of import and export containerised cargo, a pioneering solution in the region. This platform, conceived and strategically led by Dahl-Skog, incorporates cutting-edge technologies in development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical information across the entire logistics chain.

This innovation is embodied in Smartflux, the digital platform of Empresas Taylor, currently operational in Chile and Peru and undergoing regional expansion. Recently, Smartflux was admitted as the first and only Latin American member of the Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA), an international organisation bringing together shipping lines and technology leaders in maritime transport to establish global standards for digitalisation, interoperability, and logistics chain security.

Smartflux’s inclusion in the DCSA reflects the platform’s high technological maturity and compliance with demanding international standards in information security, data governance, and interoperability. This milestone is a direct result of Jürgen Dahl-Skog’s leadership, who has driven a technology architecture aligned with global best practices, positioning Smartflux and Empresas Taylor as regional actors with international reach.

The distinction awarded by CIO Review, based on reader nominations and specialised editorial evaluation, recognises Jürgen Dahl-Skog as a Latin American reference in technology leadership. For Empresas Taylor, this recognition validates a long-term strategy where technology is a strategic business pillar and reinforces the group’s positioning—alongside its shipping agency Ian Taylor—as an active driver of modernisation in the regional maritime-port ecosystem.
