Smartflux joins DCSA+: A milestone in the digitalisation of maritime transport

Smartflux, the technology subsidiary of Empresas Taylor, has announced its incorporation into the Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) through its DCSA+ programme, marking a significant milestone for the maritime and logistics industry in the region. With this step, the company becomes part of the global ecosystem leading the standardisation and digitalisation of container shipping worldwide.

DCSA is an international non-profit organisation that brings together the world’s leading shipping lines — representing nearly 75% of global container trade — with the objective of defining common standards for data models, APIs and electronic documentation. These guidelines are transforming the way industry stakeholders exchange information, manage processes and advance towards effective interoperability.

Smartflux’s incorporation into DCSA+ positions the company within the space where the rules shaping the future of digital maritime logistics are being defined. More than an institutional affiliation, this step represents recognition of a platform developed from real operational port experience, with a focus on efficiency, traceability, security and international scalability.

In this context, Rafael Widow, Design Manager at Smartflux, highlighted the scope of the agreement and its operational and technological implications: “Becoming part of DCSA+ means integrating directly into the space where the standards that will define the future of digital maritime transport are being established. This agreement enables true interoperability between systems, aligning our interfaces, data structures and digital processes with a common language that facilitates connectivity between shipping lines, terminals and logistics stakeholders at a global level. In addition, it opens the door to interoperability testing and direct collaboration with shipping lines and technology partners operating across multiple markets,” he stated, after representing the company at the signing of the agreement in Singapore.

For Empresas Taylor, this milestone reflects a long-term strategic vision aimed at combining more than six decades of operational experience in maritime and port services with the development of world-class digital solutions. In a context where standardisation and interoperability are key to addressing the growth of maritime trade and increasing logistical complexity, Smartflux’s incorporation into DCSA+ consolidates this path and positions the business group — and its technology subsidiary — at a level of international competitiveness aligned with current industry demands, contributing to the development of a more efficient, connected and future-ready maritime industry.
